Anton Haardt has nearly 25 years of experience as an artist, folk art collector and mentor to folk artists. She also maintains a foundation for folk artists. She started with Mose Tolliver in the early seventies and now has one of the most extensive collections of Southern folk art or "Outsider Art", numbering over 3,000 pieces. Over the years she has photographed these artists and through hand coloring and xeroxing, she has created some interesting imagery. She has successfully managed her gallery in Alabama for many years, catering to customers throughout the United States and Europe. Recently Anton Haardt Gallery has opened up an Annex in New Orleans in an old house in the Garden District that she is in the process of totally renovating.
